«Gilgamesh the King» is the fantasy and science fiction novel by Robert Silverberg, published by Destino in paperback (408 pages, in Spanish).
Robert Silverberg recreates the epic of Gilgamesh from a human perspective: the king-god of Sumer is here a man with fears and doubts, obsessed with death. In the first person and in the form of a diary, the narrative follows his journey in search of immortality and combines the original epic with a psychological portrait of the monarch.
First installment of the «Gilgamesh» series by Robert Silverberg. Originally published in English in 1984, with Spanish translation by Domingo Santos.
A read for those who enjoy fantasy, mythology, and intimate reinterpretations of the great epic tales.
Robert Silverberg is a prolific American science fiction author and editor. He is a multiple winner of both Hugo and Nebula Awards, a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, and a Grand Master of SF since 2004.
