«Gol 1. Un gran equipo» is the children's soccer novel by Luigi Garlando, published by Montena in hardcover (156 pages, in Spanish).
Eight boys and girls who share a love of soccer form the Cebolletas, a team led by the peculiar coach Gaston Champignon, a former player who discovers one of them playing with an orange. Throughout the season they experience games, practices and adventures, and learn that winning matters less than having fun and playing as a team.
This work is the first volume of the series «¡Gol!». In Italian, the original title is «Calcio d'inizio» and the first edition was published in 2006.
Recommended for readers aged 9 and up, especially for those who enjoy stories about soccer, friendship and adventure.
