«Grandes esperanzas» is the novel by Deborah Chiel based on the movie of the same name, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (229 pages, in Spanish).
Adaptation of Dickens's story to the present: a young fisherman and painter from Florida sees his life marked by an escaped convict and by Estella, a beautiful debutante from high society. His drive to make his way in that world takes him to present-day New York, in a story of love, disillusionment and maturity.
The movie of the same name from 20th Century Fox starred Gwyneth Paltrow, Ethan Hawke, Robert De Niro and Anne Bancroft.
