«Hello Dubai: Skiing, Sand and Shopping in the World's Weirdest City» is Joe Bennett's travelogue, published in paperback in 2011.
Joe Bennett travels to Dubai to discover how a small desert enclave has become, in a little over thirty years, an ultramodern and opulent destination, with skyscrapers, shopping malls and luxury hotels. With a satirical tone, he observes expatriate life, the city's excesses and the contradictions of an emirate built largely by immigrants.
The book has 272 pages and is written in English; the work was originally published in 2010.
For readers of humorous travel writing and those curious about Dubai's contrasts and expatriate life.
