«Hidden Depths» is the crime novel by Ann Cleeves, published by Pan Books in paperback (371 pages, in English).
On the Northumberland coast, Inspector Vera Stanhope investigates two deaths with the same pattern: a man strangled in a bathtub covered in flowers and a young teacher found in a rocky pool, also adorned with flowers. The scenes seem the work of a killer who turns death into art while the community hides secrets.
It is the third installment in the Vera Stanhope series. This 2011 edition includes on the cover a mention of the television series Vera.
Recommended for readers of British crime fiction and for fans of the television series Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn.
