«Hijas de un sueño» is a book of twelve short stories by Gerardo Rodríguez Salas, published by Esdrújula Ediciones in paperback (156 pages, in Spanish).
In these twelve stories, existence is compared to a loom where anonymous lives intertwine. The author portrays the daily life of ordinary people and rescues their Andalusian speech. The boundary between the real and the strange blurs: the marvelous slips into the everyday and the darkest side of the human being emerges, between tenderness and bitterness.
It is part of the «Etcétera» collection by Esdrújula Ediciones, no. 18. First edition published in 2018.
For readers of contemporary fiction and costumbrista stories set in Andalusia, with a touch of magical realism.
