Liir is fourteen years old and has a lot of questions. He has always been with Elphaba, the green-skinned witch, but he doesn't know if she is his real mother. When she dies, Liir embarks on a journey to discover his identity and his place in the world. A few days later he wakes up injured and scared in a monastery next to Candle, a mysterious young mute novice. Liir will soon discover that his problems have only just begun. This is the sequel to Wicked.
