«Hijo de la ira» is the crime novel by Jim Thompson, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
Allen, a young Black man, arrives with his white mother in a new neighborhood to start a new life. After a very hard childhood, he decides to go on the attack: cynical, intelligent and full of hatred, he can be very cruel. The plot, unusual in Jim Thompson's career, is structured around sex and violence.
Novel originally published as «Child of Rage» in 1972; this Spanish edition appeared in 1993. Number 22 in the «La genuina novela negra Black» collection.
For crime fiction readers looking for a raw and provocative work, unflinching in the face of explicit sex and violence.
James Myers Thompson was an American novelist and screenwriter, known for his hardboiled crime fiction.
