«Hilos y tijeras» is the children's picture book by Ricardo Alcántara, published by Algar Editorial in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
Raquel feels insecure in the new house, so big that she doesn't leave her mother's side. Her mother is not a dressmaker, but she is very skilled with threads and scissors; her plan is to sew her a very special dress and use colored threads to show her that they will always be united, even when apart.
Number 105 in the Calcetín collection, with illustrations by Rebeca Luciani Torres and recommended reading for children aged 4 to 8.
For young readers starting to read alone and for sharing with the family: it deals with fear of the unknown and the bond between mother and daughter.
