«História Breve da Lua» is the stage play by António Gedeão, published by Porto Editora in paperback (64 pages, in Portuguese).
The narrative opens with a woodcutter carrying a bundle of firewood; that folk tale gives way to a scientific explanation of the Moon and its phases. The work, written in rhyme and conceived as theater, includes stage directions for its staging and features illustrations.
Recommended reading by the Plano Nacional de Leitura for 8th grade; it belongs to the Rosa dos Ventos collection.
Suitable for young readers, it is also useful as a text to perform in the classroom: it combines literature, science and theater.
