«Historias de Obaba» is a collection of short stories by Basque writer Bernardo Atxaga, published by Bolsillo Antig in paperback (214 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together three stories set in Obaba, a fictional village in the Basque Country: «Dos letters», about an emigrant in Idaho who receives two letters; «Cuando una serpiente...», where conversations between humans and animals coexist with death; and «Dos hermanos», two orphaned brothers in a hostile environment. Memory and childhood articulate these stories.
Volume in the Biblioteca de Bolsillo collection. The three stories were originally published in Basque; this edition includes translation by Arantxa Sabán and Bernardo Atxaga.

Bernardo Atxaga, pseudonym of Joseba Irazu Garmendia, is a Spanish Basque writer and self-translator.
