Historias fantásticas is a collection of fourteen stories by the Argentine author Adolfo Bioy Casares, which explore the invisible reality hidden in everyday life. The stories present fantastic situations such as crossings of times and spaces, variants of fairy tales, malignant projections of thought, fleeting encounters with the loved one, and translations in space that lead to hostile times. The work stands out for its impeccable narrative construction and the superposition of fantasy and reality.
Adolfo Bioy Casares was an Argentine fiction writer, journalist, diarist, and translator. He was a friend and frequent collaborator of his fellow countryman Jorge Luis Borges. He is the author of the Fantastique novel The Invention of Morel.
