«Històrica» is the essay on theory and historiography by Johann Gustav Droysen, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (304 pages, in Catalan).
In this work, Droysen gathers his lectures on methodology and theory of history, delivered between 1852 and 1857. Against Enlightenment historiography, he argues that history can only be understood as a totality and examines how institutions such as religion or the state condition knowledge and action.
It belongs to the collection «Clàssics del Pensament Modern», co-published by Edicions 62 and the Diputació de Barcelona. Translation by Joan Fontcuberta.
Of interest to students and readers of historiography, theory of history, and modern thought.
