«Històries de la mà esquerra» is a collection of short stories by Jesús Moncada, published by RBA La Magrana in 2000 in paperback (144 pages, in Catalan).
A compilation of stories that mostly recovers Jesús Moncada's childhood and youth memories in the Catalan-speaking strip of Aragon, though there are also urban tales. It portrays miners, boatmen who went down the Ebro, café gatherings and funerals, mixing reality and fiction, myths and superstitions.
The book belongs to the Els Llibres de Butxaca collection, number 5, and was awarded the Premi Joan Santamaria.
For readers of short fiction in Catalan and for those who want to approach the rural and oral memory of the Franja de Aragón.

Jesús Moncada i Estruga was a narrator and translator. His work is a re-creation, somewhere between realism and fantasy, of the mythical past of the old town of Mequinenza -now submerged beneath the waters of the river Ebro-.
