«Hoy, Júpiter» is the novel by Luis Landero, published by Tusquets Editores S.A. in paperback (408 pages, in Spanish).
The lives of Dámaso Méndez and Tomás Montejo run parallel: Dámaso has carried since adolescence a hatred that consumes him and leads him to devote himself to revenge, while Tomás, a solitary teacher and writer, sees love burst into his life and plunge him into disorder. Their fates finally cross in a shared denouement combining humor and tragedy, with the air of a fable.
It belongs to the Andanzas collection from Tusquets, number 630. The novel won the XV Arcebispo Juan de San Clemente Prize in 2009.
Recommended for readers of contemporary Spanish literary fiction seeking a novel with humor and tragic depth.
