«Humo en la recámara: historias del Savoy» is the novel by José Luis Alvite, published by Ézaro in paperback (252 pages, in Spanish).
The work recreates the atmosphere of a club called Savoy and portrays its regulars: men and women with a long past and few expectations, battered by fate and disenchantment. The author confesses that, rather than portraying the human condition, he wanted to tell how bars work, and that he poured some of his obsessions and failures into these characters.
Published in 2011, the work belongs to the Literature & Fiction category and to Spanish and Hispanic American narrative.
