«Hunkeler und der Fall Livius» is the crime novel by Hansjörg Schneider, published by Gustav Lubbe Verlag GmbH in paperback (244 pages, in German).
A man is found dead in a garden plot on the outskirts of Basel, and Inspector Peter Hunkeler investigates the case. The scene, with the body hanging from a hook, raises more questions than answers; the investigation clashes with difficult gardeners and cross-border police cooperation, until traces of World War II come to light.
Sixth installment in the Inspector Peter Hunkeler series; this novel was originally published in 2007.
For readers of crime and mystery fiction looking for plots with a historical background.
