It narrates in the first person the life cycle of an apple: from bud on the branch to ripe, juicy fruit, growing with rain and sun, to the seeds that will give new apple trees. Jean Marzollo's brief text, designed for early readers, is accompanied by Judith Moffatt's colorful cut-paper illustrations.
It is part of the Hello Reader! series, at its science level 1. Recommended reading age: 5 to 6 years. Published in 1997.
Children aged 5 to 6, in the midst of learning to read, with an interest in nature and science topics.
Jean Marzollo was an American children's author and illustrator. She wrote more than 100 books, including the best-selling and award-winning I Spy series for children, written completely in rhythm and rhyme.
