«Ich hab einen Freund, der ist Polizist» is the illustrated children's book by Ralf Butschkow, published by Carlsen in paperback (24 pages, in German).
Thomas, a police officer, spends a working day accompanied by a child: together they go to the police station, deal with a robbery, an accident and a jewelry store assault, carry out a speed check and help the river police recover a bicycle from the river. The color illustrations show the vehicles, equipment and interventions.
The book, published in 2009, is number 104 in the Lesemaus collection and belongs to the series «Ich hab eine/n Freund/in...».
It is a book for young children: suitable for reading aloud and for starting independent reading, with simple explanations about police work.
