«Ich kehre zurück nach Afrika / Ins dunkle Herz Afrikas» is a volume with two novels by Stefanie Gercke, published by Weltbild in paperback and in German.
The two novels follow Henrietta, a young German woman sent to South Africa in the 1950s. In the first novel, Henrietta tries to build a life with the Scotsman Ian, but apartheid puts them in danger; in the second, having fled with her family, nostalgia for Africa leads her to return and face her conflicts anew.
This volume, published in 2005, brings together the novels «Ich kehre zurück nach Afrika» and «Ins dunkle Herz Afrikas».
For readers of contemporary fiction with a historical background and an interest in stories set in Africa.
