This work, written by Andrea Matthioli and published by Anguana Edizioni, is the second volume of a carefully curated edition of the famous 'Discorsi' on the work of Dioscorides. This treatise, fundamental in the history of Renaissance science, was originally published in the 16th century and became an indispensable reference text for physicians and scientists for centuries, thanks to its detailed descriptions of botany and medicinal materials.
This modern edition presents the classic text in an accessible format, maintaining the historical and scientific rigor that characterized Matthioli's original work. It is an essential piece for both scholars of the history of medicine and botany, and for collectors interested in the scientific texts that defined the thought of the European Renaissance.
