«Il milione» is Marco Polo's travel account in the Italian version by Maria Bellonci, published by Mondadori in paperback (382 pages, in Italian).
Between 1298 and 1299, in the prisons of Genoa, Marco Polo dictated to Rustichello of Pisa the account of his journey to China, begun in 1271. The work, known as «Il milione» after the nickname of the Polo family, describes lands, peoples and customs of Asia and helped spread knowledge of the East in the West.
