Almustafa, the chosen one of God, has lived twelve years in the city of Orphalese and is about to return to his native island. Before embarking, the inhabitants ask him to share his wisdom, and his answers make up this book of essays in poetic prose on themes such as love, work, freedom, pain and death.
This 2013 edition is the 13th from Feltrinelli, in the Universale economica. Oriente collection; the work was originally published in 1923.
Recommended for readers interested in spirituality, philosophy and prose poetry, as well as classics of world literature.
