«Impresiones de Irlanda» is the travel book by Gilbert Keith Chesterton, published by Editorial Renacimiento in paperback (204 pages, in Spanish).
After traveling through Ireland in 1918, Chesterton portrays a country in the midst of political turmoil, shortly before part of the island achieved its independence. His impressions combine landscapes, people and conversations with figures such as W. B. Yeats, and analyze the causes of the conflict to argue in favor of Irish self-government.
Number 38 in the Los viajeros collection, with a prologue by Antonio Rivero Taravillo and a translation from English by Victoria León.
For those who enjoy travel literature and want to discover Chesterton's view of Ireland at a key moment in its history.
Gilbert Keith Chesterton was an English Christian apologist writer. Chesterton's wit, paradoxical style, and defence of tradition made him a dominant figure in early 20th-century literature.
