«Interdisciplinaridade, humanismo, universidade» is the essay by Carlos Pimenta, published by Campo das Letras in paperback (240 pages, in Portuguese).
This volume brings together the papers and debates of the International Seminar organized by the Cátedra Humanismo Latino. It argues for the urgent need to value human dignity, social justice and respect for diversity as pillars of the future, and proposes a critique of established knowledge from the standpoint of interdisciplinarity and interculturality, in order to orient research and teaching towards a better understanding of the human being and social transformation.
Published in 2005, the volume includes only the International Seminar section; the two theatrical pieces of scientific content are excluded.
For researchers, teachers and students of humanities and social sciences interested in humanism, interdisciplinarity and the critical role of the university.
