«Invitación a la filosofía» is an essay by French philosopher André Comte-Sponville, published by Ediciones Paidós in paperback (206 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together the twelve introductions to the «Cuadernos de filosofía», revised and expanded, as an initiation into thought: philosophizing is thinking for oneself, but relying on the great philosophers. A selection of short texts opens the door to twenty-five centuries of philosophy and invites the reader to discover the works on their own.
The work was published in 2002. It belongs to the Contextos collection, from Ediciones Paidós, as volume 1.
Aimed at readers approaching philosophy for the first time, it serves as a gateway to the major questions and authors of the discipline.
