«Irakasle alu bat» is the young adult novel by Xabier Mendiguren Elizegi, published by Elkar in paperback (192 pages, in Basque).
The narrator insists he will never forget Txintxeta, a teacher he does not hesitate to call «alu» (a scoundrel). Memories crowd in, from the exam strike to what they did to Panda and Txusmi or the business with the car, and he announces he will tell it all step by step, just as it happened.
Xabier Mendiguren Elizegi (Beasain, 1964) is a philologist by training and an editor by profession. «Irakasle alu bat», published in 1998, is the 50th volume in the Branka collection.
Aimed at young people aged 12 to 16, interested in contemporary Basque fiction.
