«Is Youp leuk?» is a collection of humorous columns by Youp van 't Hek, published by Thomas Rap in paperback (398 pages, in Dutch).
The book brings together a selection of columns that Youp van 't Hek published in the press from 2001 onward, with his characteristic satire. Van 't Hek portrays abuses of power, money and image without mercy, turning each text into a mirror of Dutch society; the question in the title is left to the reader.
The selection comes from the volumes Iedereen is in de war, Het platte land, Liegangst, Hartjeuk & zieleczeem and Het leven is wel leuk! The book appeared in 2007.
For readers of satire and social criticism who want a glimpse of Dutch current affairs of the 2000s with an ironic eye.
Joseph Jacobus Maria "Youp" van 't Hek is a Dutch author, columnist, singer-songwriter, playwright, critic and former comedian.
