«It's Different for Girls» is the contemporary fiction novel by Jo Brand, published by Headline Review in hardcover in 2005 (352 pages, in English).
In 1970s Hastings, Rachel and Susan survive adolescence thanks to their friendship, which protects them from parents, bullies, soggy fries and warm beer. When Dave, a local rocker and bad boy, enters their lives, they discover that sex, drugs and rock and roll are not what they imagined. The arrival of punk changes everything.
Recommended for readers looking for a story about teenage friendship and the transition to adult life in 1970s England, with humor and nostalgia.
