«Jean-Sébastien Bach» is a children's book-CD by Paule Du Bouchet and Charlotte Voake, published by Gallimard in French.
With a friendly tone, this book-CD introduces children to Johann Sebastian Bach: it recalls that at twelve he already played the harpsichord, organ, violin, and viola, and proposes observation games, such as listening to the sound of water or entering a luthier's shop. At the end, it invites listening to the disc to approach the composer's music.
Book-CD from the «Découverte des musiciens» collection by Gallimard Jeunesse, published in 1998.
For children starting classical music; combines anecdotes, illustrations, and a CD to listen to as a family.
Charlotte Voake is a Welsh children's illustrator who has won several awards including the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 1997.
