«Juanillo y las habichuelas mágicas» is the children's adaptation of the classic tale by Edith Nesbit, Ramon Madaula and Ramon Masnou Ferrer, in paperback.
A lazy, dreamy boy gives away his cow, his only valuable possession, for a handful of beans. When they fall to the ground, they sprout and a plant grows that reaches the sky. Juanillo climbs it and discovers a land ruled by a cruel ogre, where a talking harp and a hen that lays golden eggs are at stake.
No. 18 of the Piñata collection; 64 pages; published in 2014. Translation by Alberto Fuentes Puerta and Alberto Fuertes Puerta; illustrations by Matt Tavares.
Aimed at early readers aged 6 to 8, it is used as supplementary material in 1st and 2nd grade of elementary school.
