«Juntacadáveres» is the novel by Uruguayan writer Juan Carlos Onetti, published by Millenium in hardcover (197 pages, in Spanish).
Larsen, nicknamed Juntacadáveres, arrives in the fictional city of Santa María with three prostitutes to set up a brothel. His project clashes with the hypocrisy and conservative forces of the town, led by Father Bergner. Onetti explores decadence and alienation with dense prose and an oppressive atmosphere.
Originally published in 1964, this 1999 edition belongs to the collection Las 100 joyas del milenio, no. 41, and includes a prologue by Javier Maqua.
For readers of twentieth-century Latin American fiction and classics of Spanish-language literature.
