«Katixa eta Kroko» is a children's book by Jesus Mari Txiliku Olaizola Lazkano, illustrated by Jon Zabaleta Larburu, published by Elkar in paperback (96 pages, in Basque).
Katixa is given a book without words containing photographs of animals; sometimes, these come out of its pages and go back in. One day, the crocodile escapes and causes quite a stir: it pokes holes in sneakers, messes up books, draws with markers and steals a pair of pajamas. Katixa and her brother Jungi try to catch it.
The work is number 8 in the Xaguxar collection, published in 1998 within Elkar's children's and young adult catalogue.
For children and young adult audiences, recommended from age 8 and especially suitable for reading in Basque.
