Set in the Caribbean with Guadeloupe as a backdrop, the narrative follows characters trapped between the weight of history, cultural heritage and the desire to redefine their identity. Through everyday life and personal conflicts, the author portrays a plural and unequal society, marked by the colonial past and by the search for a place of one's own in the world.
The paperback edition belongs to the Folio collection; the cover includes the mention of the alternative Nobel Prize in literature.
A work for readers of contemporary fiction interested in the Caribbean, identity and cultural memory.
