«La buena madre» is the novel by Sue Miller, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (311 pages, in Spanish).
Anna, separated from her husband, starts a new life with her daughter Molly: she must adapt to a different economy, a smaller home and a new job while recalling the past. The novel portrays the traditional family with dissonant notes, and reflects on the incomprehension and social pressure towards those who rebel against its norms.
The Good Mother is the original title of this novel; the Spanish edition, translated by Nora Watson, was published in 1987.
For readers of contemporary narrative and literary fiction, especially those looking for stories about family and motherhood.
