«La canción de Amina» is the children's and young adult novel by Sigrid Heuck, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Amina, daughter of an Arab sheikh, lives in a place where horse riding is an activity reserved for men; she, however, dreams of achieving it. A chance encounter with Tarik, who teaches her to ride in secret, transforms her life and gives way to a story of love, adventure, and struggle against the prohibition imposed by traditions.
It is number 121 of the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection, with translation by María Jesús Larriba; the original German title is «Aminas Lied».
Aimed at a children's and young adult audience aged 10 to 14, with a story that combines love, adventure, and the vindication of equality.
