«La canción de Jan» is the historical novel by Maureen Myant, published by Grijalbo Mondadori in hardcover (288 pages, in Spanish).
In 1942, Jan witnesses the execution of his father at the hands of the Nazis and the dispersal of his family: his mother and older sister disappear, and his younger sister, Lena, is handed over to a German family. Jan searches for her from Czechoslovakia, through Poland and Germany, on a journey that reveals the human cost of war.
The work was originally published as «The Search» and reached Spanish in a translation by Encarna Quijada Vargas. It is Maureen Myant's first novel.
For readers of historical fiction about the Second World War and stories of families separated by the conflict.
