«La Chatte au chapeau» is the children's novel by Simon Ruge and Desi Ruge, published by Editions Gallimard in paperback (192 pages, in French).
A singular cat arrives in the town of Beaulieu-la-Rivière with her hat and her handbag, rents a spacious house and turns village life upside down with absurd situations. Among the characters are Roumégoux and Commère la Poule, and even a lama who is only good for something while he sleeps. The story combines humor and fantasy in a tone close to the classic tale.
The edition belongs to the Folio Junior collection from Gallimard Jeunesse.
Aimed at child readers aged 6 to 9, according to the publisher's data for this edition.
