«La clase de dibujo» is the children's picture book by Tomie de Paola, published by Editorial Everest in paperback (32 pages, in Spanish).
Tommy eagerly awaits his first drawing class, his favorite activity. When he arrives, he discovers it's not as he imagined: instead of creating freely, he's asked to copy the teacher's drawing. A story about creativity, individuality and children's artistic expression.
The English original is The Art Lesson; Tomie de Paola wrote the text and illustrations. Translation by Juan González Álvaro. Rascacielos collection, recommended from age 6.
For child readers from age 6, especially those who enjoy drawing and exploring their artistic side.
Thomas Anthony "Tomie" dePaola was an American writer and illustrator who created more than 260 children's books, such as Strega Nona. He received the Children's Literature Legacy Award for his lifetime contribution to American children's literature in 2011.
