La couleur oubliée de l'arc-en-ciel

Synopsis of La couleur oubliée de l'arc-en-ciel

«La couleur oubliée de l'arc-en-ciel» is the historical novel by Martine Pilate, published by Editions De Borée in paperback (303 pages, in French).

Antoine, son of a Black mother and a white landowner, grows up in Louisiana under early 20th-century segregation. The jazz of his father's cabaret and his studies in New York mark his youth, but in 1917 he is mobilized to France; there, amid the horror of war, he meets Maëlle, a Breton woman who makes him question his prejudices.

For readers with a level of French who enjoy historical fiction about racial segregation and World War I.
