«La espiral de los sueños» is the young adult mystery novel by Miguel Luis Sancho, published by Ediciones Palabra in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
On a trip to Alto del León, in the Sierra de Madrid, Gonzalo and Manuel come across a Republican soldier from the Civil War who gives them a diary, and through reading it they discover a truncated love story, a spiral-shaped pendant, and how the war pushed many young people towards violence and fanaticism.
It belongs to the La Mochila de Astor collection, in its noir series, and includes illustrations by Fernando Ferreiro.
Recommended for young people aged 12 and over, especially for those who enjoy mystery and stories about the Spanish Civil War.
