«La fuga» is the historical suspense novel by Carmen Domingo, published by Ediciones B in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Set on May 22, 1938, in the midst of the Spanish Civil War, the novel reconstructs the mass escape from the San Cristóbal Fort in Pamplona: some 2,500 prisoners, mostly political, attempt to flee thanks to a plan devised by Leopoldo Pico. Only 795 manage to leave the prison to try to cross into France, though not all will achieve their goal.
The work belongs to the La Trama collection from Ediciones B. It was first published on March 9, 2011.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction and political thrillers, especially those interested in real episodes of the Spanish Civil War.
