«La gallina» is the children's book by Estel Baldó, Rosa Gil and Maria Soliva, published by Barcanova in paperback (24 pages, in Catalan).
A popular and traditional poem serves as a starting point for early readers to begin understanding poetry. The hen stars in a countryside scene with insects and small animals, in a text that works on print and cursive letters to encourage independent reading.
Published in 2006, it belongs to the El Bosc de Colors collection and features illustrations by Bernadette Cuxart. Recommended reading age: 4 to 6 years.
Designed for children aged 4 to 6 who are starting to read in Catalan, and for families or teachers who want to introduce them to traditional poetry.
