«La Garden-Party et autres nouvelles» is Katherine Mansfield's collection of short stories, published by Folio in paperback (368 pages, in French).
The stories capture everyday gestures and emotions with delicacy and an sometimes cruel irony: the light of a radiant morning, a garden party, solitude, childhood, loss, and the small pleasures that make life bearable.
It is the last collection of stories published in Mansfield's lifetime, original work from 1922; this edition, edited by Françoise Pellan, dates from 2002.
For readers of short fiction and twentieth-century classics, and for those studying the modern short story.
Kathleen Mansfield Murry was a New Zealand writer and critic who was an important figure in the modernist movement. Her works are celebrated across the world and have been published in 25 languages.
