«La hija de la nieve» is the historical novel by Núria Esponellà, published by Editorial Planeta in hardcover (288 pages, in Spanish).
Enrique, assistant engineer on the Núria rack railway, and Juana, a waitress who becomes a ski instructor, meet at almost 2000 meters while the line is being built. War shatters that tranquillity and, in the 1940s, Juana crosses the Pyrenees to save women and children fleeing the European conflict, with consequences that will change her life.
The work belongs to the Autores Españoles e Iberoamericanos collection; the translation is by Josep Escarré Reig.
Aimed at readers of historical fiction and stories set in the Pyrenees, with the Núria rack railway as the setting.
