Eduardo Mendoza Garriga is a Spanish novelist, playwright, and essayist. His 1986 novel, La Ciudad de los Prodigios, is widely acclaimed, and he is also known for his "mad detective" parody novels, in particular El Laberinto de las Aceitunas.
