«Yo, Julia» is the historical novel by Santiago Posteguillo, published by Booket in paperback (720 pages, in Spanish).
In 192 AD, the Roman Empire is reeling: the Senate conspires against Commodus, and the generals Albinus, Severus, and Niger vie for power. Julia, Severus's wife, held hostage in Rome, dreams of something greater than the throne: forging a dynasty. The fire that ravages the city will be her opportunity.
It won the Planeta Prize for Fiction in 2018. It is the first installment in the Julia Domna series.
For readers of historical fiction who enjoy the political intrigues of the Roman Empire and a great female protagonist.
