«La ignorancia» is the novel by Milan Kundera, published by Círculo de Lectores in 2000, in paperback (199 pages, in Spanish).
Two Czech exiles, Irena and Josef, return to their country after twenty years away. The reunion with the places and people they left behind confronts them with the abyss between memory and reality. Kundera weaves a brief story about nostalgia, uprootedness and the illusion of returning to a home that no longer exists.
The Spanish translation is by Beatriz de Moura. The original text, «L'ignorance», was written in French.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction interested in exile, memory and identity.
