«La intimidad de la serpiente» is the poetry collection by Luis García Montero, published by Tusquets Editores in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
The collection is an introspection from maturity: a biographical, moral and sentimental review where the poetic self examines itself without complacency. Childhood and youthful ideals intersect with the contradictions of the present and the legacy of history; complex feelings are named through familiar objects and scenes.
Published in 2003, it belongs to the Marginales collection of Tusquets Editores (number 212), within the Nuevos Textos Sagrados series.
For readers of contemporary Spanish poetry seeking an introspective work with a reflective tone.
Luis García Montero is a Spanish poet, literary critic and academic. He is a professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Granada and since 2018 director of the Instituto Cervantes.
