«La ira del fuego» is the young adult novel by Henning Mankell, published by Siruela in hardcover (168 pages, in Spanish).
Sofía lives in Mozambique with her husband and three children; the money from the workshop barely suffices. When Armando comes home late with new clothes and contributes nothing, Sofía confirms a deception. Instead of silencing her anger, Sofía chooses her own path. Mankell presents it as a story between truth and fantasy in a country marked by poverty and war.
It belongs to the Las Tres Edades collection (no. 166) and is the third installment in the Sofía series. Translated from Swedish by Mayte Giménez and Pontus Sánchez; original title: «Eldens Vrede» (2005).
For young people aged 14 and up and for those seeking a novel with social awareness and a female protagonist.
Henning Georg Mankell was a Swedish crime writer, children's author, and dramatist, best known for a series of mystery novels starring his most noted creation, Inspector Kurt Wallander. He also wrote a number of plays and screenplays for television.
